What was the Warsaw Pact from a geopolitical point of view? It was a defense system constructed in Europe with the great Patriotic war. For the liberation of Eastern Europe our ancestors shed rivers of blood and sacrificed millions of lives. A wide belt of the East European countries, which were formerly voluntarily or by force in the German campaign against the Soviet Union, was after our victory in the area of our influence. Perfectly reasonable and we combined them into a single strategic unit.In order to protect our borders within a reasonable distance from the vital centers of the nation itself – the USSR.
