We can say with confidence that in South East Syria will continue the revitalization of the hybrid war that gets very sparse coverage in the press. The main players acting in their hands “proxy” or special units, solve problems of redistribution of spheres of influence that are important for the further conduct of the war, and for potential negotiations on a final settlement.
U.S.-led coalition jets struck a gathering of Syrian government forces deemed a threat to partnered forces on the ground near the Jordanian border, U.S. defense officials confirmed Thursday.
Reinforcements from the Syrian Arab Army, the National Defense Forces, and Iraqi PMU-affiliated militias continue to pour from all across Syria to east Suweida and Eastern Qalamoun ahead of an anticipated massive offensive aimed at recapturing the Tanf Border Crossing which lies a 100 km from the recently-captured Zaza Checkpoint along the Damascus-Baghdad Highway.
Mohannad Ahmed al-Tallaa, the commander of the rebel battalion stationed at Tanf, said they began working with US troops at the base late last year. A former officer in an elite Syrian army unit, he defected early in the civil war and has been a vital player in the rebel fight in Deir Ezzor, a province in eastern Syrian that has become a major ISIS stronghold. He created the battalion, called Maghaweir Al-Thowra, or Commandos of the Revolution, with the aim of working with the US-backed coalition to free Deir Ezzor from ISIS, he said, adding that he and his men now live with their US partners. “I’m sitting with them right now,” he said when reached by phone on Tuesday night; men with American accents could be heard speaking English in the background.
Us special forces lit up to the South in the southern areas of Syria, acting in combat formations of militants, “New Syrian Army” and affiliated groups, which occupies the desert areas South-East of Syria indicating their presence and showing the flag, using the fact that the main forces of the militants of the Caliphate involved in more important directions. In fact, this American proxy structure through which they increase their influence in South-Eastern Syria to strengthen its bargaining position. It is so to speak an additional illustration to those who does not understand why the Americans are deploying their military bases at the Syrian-Jordanian border.
Overall, the US is trying in the North of Syria to promote its interests through SDF/YPG and to the South – through the NSA. Former “freedom fighters” are now considered as “used condoms” and the dubious right to lead them now divide Turkey and Saudi Arabia. The territory controlled by the Caliphate all parties to the conflict are now considered as a valuable prize, which carries with it the prospects for expanding areas of control. After signing the agreement in Astana, we can expect more active involvement of Syria, Russia and Iran in the race for territorial control.
Americans have more serious trouble. In Jordan on a military base the Jordanian military shot and killed 3 American military instructors, who for some reason refused to responded to the order to stop the car. Apparently they were taken for suicide bombers and it is reported in the media that they even began to shoot. The result was 3 vs 200.
Like the US, the Brits are completely disregarding international law as the legitimate government of Syria in Damascus any permits for the action of the British troops on its territory is not allowed. The Americans have not long ago got burned on this when taking this legal conflict, the Russian Air Forces bombed at the Jordanian border CIA camp of militants and declared it a “fight against terrorism”, after which the state Department, despite the protests of the Pentagon, suddenly want to share information about the actions of the aviation.
Islamic State suicide bombers on Sunday attacked a military base for U.S.-backed fighters near the Syrian-Iraqi border, leaving several dead before blowing themselves up, rebel sources and the militants said on Sunday.
They said the dawn attack on the heavily defended military camp near the Syrian al Tanf border crossing with Iraq involved at least one explosive-laden vehicle that rammed the gate of the base which was set up by the fledgling, Pentagon-trained New Syria Army.
The Caliphate suddenly decided to share more information about the defeat of the troops of the “New Syrian Army”, which was prepared by the CIA and which suffered a painful defeat at Abu Kamal about a month ago.
An image shared via Twitter on 17 June shows a member claiming to be affiliated with the New Syrian Army (NSyA) or an allied group operating in Syria’s Aleppo governorate. The combatant in the picture is armed with a US-made Remington XM2010 sniper rifle, adopted by the US Army as the M2010. Previously, images from the same twitter account purported to show a delivery of arms parachuted to besieged rebel forces inside the town of Mare, in the north of Aleppo governorate. These were likely provided on an emergency basis in the hopes of preventing rebel forces holding the town from being overrun by Islamic State forces, and to support the arrival of NSyA reinforcements. These supplies included significant quantities of ammunition, including mortar projectiles.

Last Wednesday, the New Syrian Army—America’s best, maybe only, hope to challenge the self-proclaimed Islamic State in its east Syrian stronghold—launched a daring attack on the heart of Islamic State territory.
By Thursday, it had gone wrong.
Islamic State had been waiting, and the New Syrian Army only barely avoided being annihilated by circling jihadists. On Twitter and in an interview with me, the group’s commander, Khaz’al al-Sarhan, railed against his American backers and speculated that his own group may have been infiltrated by Islamic State.
At the end of June with Jordan in Syria came the CIA trained a group of militants more than 100 people (most of them studied in Turkey in 2015). Teaming up with local “green” and with the support of American specialists, this group (pathetically called the “New Syrian Army”) launched an attack on Abu Kamal an important town (from a logistical point of view) at the Syrian-Iraqi border (to the South is occupied not so long ago Ar-rutbah clipping of supply channels of militants in Anbar province). At the same time, the Americans planned to capture the airfield Hamdan to the North of the city, which can be used to supply the advancing troops and subsequent operations aimed at establishing control over the Syrian-Iraqi border. In the preparation of the offensive involved the US, Britain and Jordan.
Now it emerges that a firm with very close ties to the Clinton machine is receiving massive amounts of money from the very Bangladesh bank that financed an Al-Qaeda suicide bombing campaign to the tune of 20 million… A bank with close ties to the same salafists that funded the New Syrian Army.
The New Syrian Army was formed in November 2015 with support from the U.S. and Jordan. It was mobilized from the remnants of Free Syrian Army (FSA) affiliated groups from the Syrian-Iraqi border region of Deir al-Zor governorate…Most were affiliated with the Saudi-backed Jabhat Asala wal-Tanmiya (Authenticity and Development Front) umbrella organization, and share the experience of defeat at the hands of IS when the group established its rule in Deir al-Zor.
The offensive itself began with NSyA units being airlifted into Syria behind ISIS lines, likely using US helicopters. From there, the force pushed into al-Bukamal town taking several areas, as well as claiming control over the al-Qaim border crossing. By all accounts until this morning the operation could be seen as a success.
However, things began to go horribly wrong. ISIS reportedly mounted a forceful counterattack towards al-Bukamal, forcing the NSyA to withdraw. While unconfirmed at this stage, ISIS claimed to have killed 40 NSyA fighters and captured another 15 in this fighting. As well, the NSyA were reported to have lost a number of vehicles to ISIS, in what had quickly turned into a rout. Given that the New Syrian Army was deployed deep into ISIS-controlled territory, 250km away from the Jordanian border (and safety) it remains to be seen how many of the US-backed fighters will have survived the offensive.
New Syrian Army of “al-Asala & Tanmia” front began a military operation in central-eastern Syria in order to take control “AlboKamal” city southwest of Deir Ez-Zour.
The Media Office of the New Syrian Army reported that the new battle aimed at taking control of the city and head to the city of Deir Ez-Zour and control it , but it is not clear when and how to begin.
The Media Office of the Army published an image shows three fighters carrying umbrellas and others in the air and saying “Daash- coming, but this time from heaven,” referring to the next battle will be from “air” with paratroopers fighters into areas of the “Islamic State” IS Group.
The Kremlin appeared to confirm involvement in the attack on Friday when a spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, told reporters it was difficult to distinguish between mainstream and extremist rebel groups from the air.
Monitors say there is no known jihadist presence around al-Tanf.
The direct assault on one of Washington’s most important anti-Isil proxies will further shake the frail relationship of convenience that has developed between the US and Russia as both sides try to bring an end to Syria’s bloody civil war.
