Russia’s Hmaymim military base in Syria held its own parade, Tuesday, to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the Soviet Victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War.
Both Russian and Syrian army personnel participated in a celebratory march with Russian military dressed in field uniforms and the Syrian government army wearing white uniforms.
The proceedings started with the participants performing Russian national anthem followed by flag-bearers who entered the field carrying the Victory Banner, a symbol of fascism’s defeat.
Pilots of the Russian Air Force, who returned from combat sorties, also took part in the celebration.
Military vehicles closed the rear with armoured personnel cars and artillery taking part.
