US Escalates War in Yemen | VIDEO

The newest step in the U.S. entanglement in Yemen is the direct application of U.S. firepower. On Thursday the United States fired cruise missiles at radar installations in territory controlled by the Yemeni rebels known as Houthis. The missile strikes were in response to a couple of unsuccessful firings from that territory of missiles evidently aimed at a U.S. warship.

Saudi Arabia Admits to Bombing Funeral in Yemen | VIDEO

Saudi Arabia has admitted that it bombed a funeral in the Yemeni capital that killed more than 140 people last week after initially denying it. A statement by a Saudi investigative body said on Saturday the kingdom carried out the strike based on what it called bad information. Saudi warplanes attacked the hall where people were attending a wake for the father of Yemen’s interior minister in Sana’a last Saturday.

Saudi officials initially said their aircraft had not carried out any attack on the Yemeni capital that day.

Libya’s UN-backed government narrowly survives coup attempt | MEE

Libya’s UN-backed unity government suffered a blow in its Tripoli base late on Friday when a rival seized key offices in the capital and proclaimed the reinstatement of the former administration.

The Government of National Accord (GNA) was installed by the UN in April, intended to replace two rival administrations, one in Tripoli and one in the eastern Cyrenaica region.
